18 New LinkedIn Features You Should Use in 2022
Hello LinkedIn lovers, welcome to my blog, where I teach you the best marketing strategies for LinkedIn. Today, we are going to discuss 18 New LinkedIn Features You Should Use in 2022
To stay up to date with the ever-changing world of professional networking, LinkedIn has been improving its features on a regular basis and continues to update its platform to make networking relationships easier and more accessible.
This year, I’m thrilled to share some of LinkedIn's newest and most interesting features. Now is the time to take advantage of these new LinkedIn features if you use LinkedIn and want to boost your LinkedIn marketing and brand strategies.
In 2022, LinkedIn is set to launch 18 brand-new features, which I’ll be going over in this video.
18 - LinkedIn Stories
LinkedIn stories have been officially announced! LinkedIn stories will make it easy to upload photos and videos. Basically, they're 10-second video or photo clips that can be customized with text, filters, gifts, emojis, music, and more, similar to story features on other platforms.
LinkedIn stories are a quick and engaging way to share professional updates on the site, which is a hub of professional activities. Once you've finished uploading your LinkedIn story, it’ll show up at the top of your feed as a tappable bubble, similar to Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram. Just remember that these stories are only available for 24 hours.
Keep in mind that this LinkedIn feature is currently only available to premium users, so if you have a basic LinkedIn account, you’ll need to upgrade it for access to the story feature.
17 - Live Video Streaming
Marketers can't get enough of LinkedIn's live videos, which is one of its newest releases. LinkedIn Live allows professionals to publish live videos to help marketers and professionals communicate with their followers and audiences in real-time. Live video is also one of the fastest-growing types of video content, so make sure to use LinkedIn live videos to expand your reach.
Before you go live, just double-check to make sure that you meet the Live video requirements. To do this, you can create a LinkedIn event to check if you're qualified for live video. If LinkedIn approves, a Live video option will appear in the dropdown menu.
Note that live videos are broadcast to the public and will be recorded once you're finished. And until you delete it, it will stay on your LinkedIn profile and page.
16 - Linkedin Polls
Do you want to improve your Linkedin marketing strategy? Then why not try out LinkedIn polls? This is a cool new feature that lets you tap into the power of insights, metrics, and engagement. Simply set up a poll with two to four options, and you'll see the percentage once your audience starts voting. LinkedIn polls are a great way to increase engagement on your posts and learn more about your audience.
15 - Updated Reactions
Are you tired of the same old reactions options? Well you’re in luck, because LinkedIn has generated some new and unique responses. For example, you can react with a heart to express love, a 'clap' to celebrate milestones or any achievement, a 'curious' emoji for a thought-provoking idea, and an 'insightful' reaction for any interesting idea you come across. With LinkedIn responses, you can be more expressive and constructive than what other social media sites currently offer.
14 - Name pronunciation
Is it difficult to pronounce your name? Well, LinkedIn is now on your side. If people tend to have a difficult time pronouncing your name, now all you have to do is record the correct pronunciation and post it on your LinkedIn profile. With LinkedIn's new feature, you can help others while also ensuring that your followers and audience get your name right.
13 - You can now put images in a carousel post
Not sure how to best present your blog posts, slides, or case studies? Have no fear, LinkedIn has put together a feature called carousel images just for you. Basically, posts in a carousel are documents that have been shared on your feed, and are very engaging and appealing to audiences. With LinkedIn's carousel posts, you can take your engagement to the next level.
12 - Linkedin Video Conferences
Virtual networking has taken over the world in recent years (for obvious reasons), so Linkedin has made this even easier by adding a video conferencing feature. This new feature makes it easier than ever to stay in touch with people while maintaining a safe distance, whether at the office or at conferences or events. By converting your texting conversation to a face-to-face meeting, you don’t have to let an important opportunity pass you by.
11 - Messages Can Now Be Edited After They've Been Sent
Have you ever found yourself needing to make changes to your message in the middle of a conversation? LinkedIn has a solution for this. After you've sent your message, you can now go back and edit it, such as if you feel your message is no longer needed or if there is a typo in it. With this brand-new LinkedIn feature, you can immediately edit or delete messages from your chats.
10 - You can also Post Highlights On Your Profile with the “Featured” Section
Is your work not getting the attention it deserves? With LinkedIn, showcasing your sample work has never been easier. Make the most of the featured section by showcasing your best samples of work you’re most proud of as proof of your abilities. You can publish your own or other people’s articles or blogs, links to an external website, and upload videos, images, or presentations. You can even pin your best work to give your content more life and make sure that more people see it.
9 - A Tab for Creating Events
Do you want to push the boundaries by trying something new and bigger? Bring your professional network together with a new LinkedIn feature called 'Events.' You can now easily create LinkedIn events and host them in a secure, online location. Simply add an event, a logo, a banner image, a venue, and a time slot. You can even promote your event and then follow up by retargeting your attendees, making events a perfect marketing opportunity.
8 - There is also a new Tab for Viewing Page Followers
Are you curious to know who's looking at your profile and where they're coming from? LinkedIn keeps a close eye on everything for this purpose thanks to the new feature that lets you view the page followers tab. This feature will display all of the people who have followed your LinkedIn page, as well as any information they have added to their LinkedIn profile. With this new LinkedIn feature, you can better understand your connections and make the most of them.
7 - Notify your employees about posts
Are you looking for a way to incorporate your employees into your LinkedIn strategy? Well, LinkedIn has found the answer. You can now quickly inform your team or employees about your new position. This new feature will alert your team to check all of the posts on your company's page, which they can then share with their friends. As a result, including your employees in your marketing strategy is a great way to build brand awareness.
6 - You can save items on LinkedIn
Do you ever find yourself rushing to work while scrolling on Linkedin and stumble across an interesting article you want to read but just don’t have the time? Well, you can now save it in your LinkedIn profile's 'my items' section and view it later. If you're running out of time, simply save the post to your 'my items' folder and return to it later.
5- Photo Frames with the hashtags #OpentoWork or #HiringLinkedIn
Are you looking for a job or looking to hire a new employee? In these difficult times, finding a new job can be stressful, but LinkedIn has made it easier by introducing photo frames. All you have to do is use the hashtags #Opentowork if you're looking for a new job and #hiring if you're looking to hire a new employee in your LinkedIn profile picture.
4 - Artificial Intelligence has now Simplified the Hiring Process
Artificial Intelligence truly is a new force to be reckoned with. LinkedIn's AI can now tell job seekers everything they need to know about the positions they're looking for. Not to mention, Linkedin has also recently launched AI feedback for the hiring process. For example, you can use it to submit and record things like your interview responses. Give this feature a try if you’re looking to make your job hunting and hiring process a little bit easier.
3 - Dark Mode
Want the feeling of closing your eyes and relaxing while scrolling your phone or working on your computer? Linkedin’s dark mode feature, like Facebook, Instagram, and Google, can let you view white content on a dark background, which is more comfortable for the eyes, especially in low light saturation.
Unfortunately, while this LinkedIn feature has been launched globally, it may not be available in all regions, but keep an eye out if it’s not yet available in your area!
2 - Cover Stories for your profile
Yes, you heard me correctly. Cover stories have recently been announced for premium profiles. This feature will allow you to upload a 3-second video clip of yourself for your profile, and will have an orange circle around it.
Adding a LinkedIn story to your profile is a great way to help you stand out from the crowd. The best part is that LinkedIn's cover story strengthens your brand and gives your professional profile more credibility. Just remember that you can only use the latest version of the Linkedin mobile app to upload a cover story.
1 - LinkedIn's creator mode
If you enjoy creating content and discussing a variety of topics, then this LinkedIn feature is for you. LinkedIn recently announced the creator mode feature, which allows you to share the most popular topics and hashtags with your audience. This allows LinkedIn users to easily find and follow your posts, expanding your reach and influence.
The creator mode feature is in the process of being gradually rolled out, so it might not be available to you right now.
It's important to keep up with the latest changes as LinkedIn continues to update its platform. Linkedin’s 2022 features are sure to help you stay ahead of the curve and level up your marketing strategy.
